The hospitality industry is enjoying good times – as the economy improves and corporate business steps up a gear
A survey by BDO showed increasing spend at hotels as business and consumer confidence improved.
At Christie & Co, there were signs of rising investment in the hotel market. New money coming into the sector from private equity companies, which have backed a number of major transactions in the past months, has resulted in increased capital spending and improvements to properties which “have been starved of investment for six to seven years”, according to the market specialists.

According to a barometer from American Express, business travel spend in Europe is rising again after a three-year slowdown.
The barometer forecasts that the upturn will continue through 2015.
In another report, events were said to benefit from an eight-year high in UK marketing budgets.
