INFOCHIP/HOLLAND RFID MERGER CHANGES GAME IN SAFETY COMPLIANCE AND INSPECTIONS.
In this issue, we have a unique opportunity to do a story on InfoChip, LP (ICLP), the global leader in providing single-sourced RFID Asset Management Solutions, which includes their own line of extremely durable RFID tags and readers, mobile inspection software, and related services. In a break from convention, this article shines a light on a company that holds a more subtle position on the job, but is responsible for some of the most transformative duties and changes in the industry.
ICLP provides powerful safety compliance and inspection management software that works hand-in-hand with their own ultra-durable RFID tags and readers. Currently, over five million ICLP tags are in circulation. Te ICLP solution enables
manufacturers, distributors, and end- users to work together to efficiently manage the certification, tracking, and inspection of industrial assets. Teir software system shares the data online, in the Cloud, so the data that a manufacturer inputs about an asset can be automatically transferred using the RFID tag as a unique identifier that links to information. Te data can be transferred and
used by a distributor who might be inspecting or selling that asset, or using a combination of assets. Te end-users now have access to that

information on phones, handhelds, and similar gadgets—through apps— and when that asset is due for its next inspection, they can send that info back to the distributor, and they retest it. Every piece of information that has to do with the safety and inspection compliance of this asset through its lifecycle is stored in the ICLP system and is accessible to anyone that needs it. Basically, any industrial asset that needs to be tracked, ICLP has a tag that will work (they’re currently working on tags for hardhats that will even locate personnel through GPS, as well as a variety of other GPS tags). Additionally, the amount of information that can be connected to a particular asset is virtually infinite. Te system stores proof-test certificates, inspection history,
pictures, all asset specs, and more— and it’s cumulative. If there’s ever an incident with a tracked piece of equipment, folks can see exactly what has happened throughout the life of this asset. It proves that people are doing their inspection processes, which reduces liabilities and proves due-diligence. Every piece of information that has to do with the safety and inspection compliance of this asset through its lifecycle is stored in the ICLP system and is accessible to anyone that needs it.
