a property in Upper Fant Road, Fant, smashing it. A window at a home in Loose Roadwas smashed, possibly by pellets being fired at it.
A Vauxhall Vivarowas set alight in a car
park in Melville Road. A child’s bicyclewas stolen from the
back garden of a home in Courtenay Road. Damagewas also caused to a swing and goal posts. A wood panel outside a shop in King
Streetwas set alight. A doorwas damaged at a property in the
High Street. A Renault Kangoo parked in Sainsbury’s
car park in Romney Placewas damaged, possibly by three men seen acting suspiciously near the cash machine. The window of a restaurant in Gabriel’s
Hillwas smashed. Copper piping was stolen from the rear
of business premises inWeek Street, causing the heating to fail. A pipe belonging to an air-conditioning
unit was taken from an office complex in BishopsWay. Two cash machines in the High Street
were damaged– CCTV footagewas being viewed. An unsecured signwas taken from the
pavement outside a shop in DukesWalk. A brick was used to smash a kitchen window at a home in George Street. A window of a home in Lushington
Road, Ringlestonewas damaged, probably by a pellet being fired at it.
Barming
Planning Representatives of the Barming Green Fields Group aended the meeting to discuss a leer they will be sending toMP Helen Grant following their meeting with her. The main concernwas the lack of strategy and the general feeling of being in the hands of the developers and at the mercy of the borough council. Mrs Grant advised the group to put their points in a leer which she would take to local government secretary Eric Pickles. The leer was not specifically about North Street, but about all planning policies, and residents had been signing it at the post office. Pavilion refurbishment The building re- opened to hirers but as work still needed to be done internally, the formal openingwas delayed. Good feedback had been received from hirers. Cllr Sandra Manser reported the recent damage to the storage cupboard whichwas totally unacceptable. She had contacted all the hirers andwas awaiting responses. Wayside Cross plaque David Linewas interested in theWayside Cross and had sent a cheque for £20 towards the cost of a new hand-painted plaque. Itwas agreed that the clerk would obtain quotes for a plaque and signwriters for possible carved leering. Furniture The clerk had been contacted by a resident inquiring about hiring some furniture from the parish council. The same had been done in 2011. Itwas decided there was no need for references this time and the

Road, Park Wood was smashed. ABMW320 parked in Hereford Road, Shepwaywas damaged by someone standing on the bonnet. Therewas an aempted break-in at a ground floor flat in St Leonard’s Road. Jewellerywas taken from a property in
South Street, Barming. A tin of chocolateswas believed to be the
only thing taken during a break-in at a home in Maryland Drive. A Cube mountain bike and toolswere
stolen from the garage of a home in Rede Wood Road, Barming. A wing mirrorwas knocked off a car in Cornwallis Road. The side mirror of a carwas smashed in Buckland Road. A van in Pope Street, Fantwas broken
into and toolswere stolen. A bicyclewas taken from the garage of a
home in Lile BucklandAvenue. Two men who had entered a home in
Warwick Place ran off when they were disturbed by the resident.

Loose
Neighbourhood planning Borough councillor John Perry spoke about the importance of Loose Parish Council taking on the neighbourhood planning process which would have a strong influence on planning decisions. Hewas keen to work with parishes and KCC towards a working parish charter document. SouthernWater Work had been carried out at the pumping station. Air lines of the pumps had been cleaned. Traffic noise Itwas felt therewas not a lot that could be done about noise and vibration on the A229. Itwas reported that bollards had been knocked down. The clerk was to notify this to Kent Highway Services. KALC awards Itwas agreed to adopt the community awards scheme and to nominate the late Cllr Roy Hood for his devotion to the parish and long public service. Meetings policyAdraft policy had been put together by the clerk and itwas agreed to adopt this. Notices informing members of the public that meetings could be filmed, recorded or published would be displayed during each meeting of Loose Parish Council. The chairman would also let the public know about this change before each meeting. Members’ allowances Itwas agreed that no members’ allowances would be claimed by
councillors in 2015/16 and that out-of- pocket expenses would be reimbursed in full. Travel allowances would be paid in accordance with the rate set by the Maidstone Council remuneration panel.
Tovil
Speaker Nicholas Morgan from the Diocese of Canterbury gave a presentation on the Archbishop Courtenay Primary School governing body. Hewas seeking to recruit school governors to support the development of the school. Interested parties can contact him at

Burial ground Itwas suggested that the maintenance contract for Tovil burial ground be given to Valley Conservation with an annual donation from the parish council. Itwas agreed this could be looked at once the contractwas up for renewal and out to tender. Plasticwallets The suggestionwas made that clear plasticwallets should be used to put relevant paperwork in for all councillors instead of envelopes, as currently used, in an aempt to save money. The chairman raised concerns that the plasticwallets would not be returned. The clerk would look into cost effectiveness. Fete Itwas agreed to hold a fete in 2015. Cllr Derek Mortimer would liaise with Archbishop Courtenay Primary School regarding a date and would form a fete commiee.
