CllrWard recommended another company, so that prices could be compared. Cllr Bauerwas concerned that therewas a legal obligation to renew the asbestos survey report regularly. Air ambulanceArequest had been received for a donation of £250 to the air ambulance. Itwas agreed that this would have to be declined. Defibrillator The clerk asked whether it would be beneficial to have a defibrillator in the village, but itwas decided that it might not be helpful because the village is so spread out. Office printer Itwas agreed that thiswas not performingwell and the clerkwas to investigate buying a new one. Village sign Cllr Bauer said the signwas now back. The wooden postwas in good condition. Hollingbourne Property Services had erected the sign free of charge. Off-road motorcyclists These had been seen again and the council’s main concernwas damage to rare flora and fauna. Bridleway Itwas reported that the bridleway KH260was impassable and a trench that had been dug had not been filled in. Cllr Cookwas to take this up with KCC. Playing fields Estimates had been sought to clear the tennis courts and install new nets. Therewere concerns over the state of the playing surface and the court might have to close until the asphalt could be replaced. In the meantime people used them at their own risk. There had been a number of repairs to the pavilion. Local plan Maidstone Councilwas still working on the local plan and consultation was likely to take place in
January.Any further planned housing to the south east of Maidstone would create intolerable traffic problems in Leeds without a relief road. Special constable Kent Police had confirmed that the village had a special constable who had started the training programme. Recycling Therewas a lot of mess around the recycling bins in the church car park. Someone had left black sacks with clothing in. Residentswere reminded that if the bins were full, recycling should be taken to alternative bins or the main dump.

Cllr Barr suggested replanting the bulbs and repairing the damaged planters would help to resolve the issue. Community centre Cllr Greenwood suggested a list of jobs for the landscaping should be undertaken and quotes sought for the work. Toddler swings Itwas resolved to replace the swings as the guard barswere missing. Christmas lights These would be switched on from December 7.

Solar farms Itwas noted from the applicant’swebsite that the proposed Tong Farm plan had been revised to 26 hectares.A soil survey had been carried out by the applicant and soil grading revised from 2/3a (the best and most versatile) to 3b and 4 (poorer quality agricultural land).
