Pastor Scott Christensen, aka “Pastor C.”
New pastor arrives at St. Paul’s After a search spanning two
years, St. Paul’s Lutheran Church has found a new pastor. Scott Christenson was installed as se- nior pastor by Rev. Dr. Larry Sto- terau of the LCMS Pacific South- west District on Sept. 7. St. Paul’s Board of Directors President Stan Marlow formally welcomed the new pastor and his family before a crowd that filled the church to overflowing. “Pastor C,” as he likes to be
called, Linda, his wife of 22 years, and sons Josh and Timmy relocated from the Midwest, af- ter serving six and a half years at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Palatine, Illinois. This is the third church for the family, but the second in California, as they previously spent two years in
Lake Elsinore. The family is happy to be in the
California clime, but remain true to their Midwestern roots: Pastor C sports a Minnesota Vikings hel- met on his desk. He met his wife at Concordia University Chicago, where both were music majors, and keeps his guitar in his office, ready to play and sing for the con- gregation. With strengths in teaching and
administration, Pastor C brings a down-to-earth sensibility to his new office. He aims to foster a healthy climate, full of respect and encouragement, while build- ing a greater partnership between church and school. Pastor Chris- tenson spoke at the opening of the new event center, and began regu- lar weekly sermons on Oct. 5.
