Brad Reese Water is a precious resource that
is becoming scarce and expen- sive. I am an experienced leader on water issues seeking your vote to be a director for SWD. I will work hard to keep rates down and water reliably flowing to your home. I am serving my final year on the Villa Park City Coun- cil, having served three terms as mayor. I promise to use my time and experience to help SWD with its operations in this challenging environment. I have served in leadership for the last four years at OC Sanitation, one of the larg- est water treatment operations in the U.S, working to recycle wastewater through the Ground Water Replenishment System. I have served our community as a Volunteer Fire Captain for OCFA for 28 years and understand water hydraulics. I am also a small busi- ness owner, serving as president of an electronics manufacturing company where we handle waste water and the removal of heavy metals and toxins from the dis- charge. I am well-versed on run- ning a business, having done so for 36 years at the same company. I would appreciate your vote.
Rich Freschi Since I was elected to SWD
(Serrano Water District) in 2008, my passion and goal has been to ensure our water will be of the highest quality at the lowest pos- sible price. We are unique in the OC as we
are part owners of Irvine Lake, have our own wells that, coupled with our state-of-the-art treatment plant, affords us our own water. Effective water management
and conservation are the two greatest challenges confronting our desert community and state. Demands from environmental protection laws and Northern California interests threaten our local water supply. Therefore, it’s imperative we maintain a depend- able, high-quality water supply at SWD, while managing ground- water using the highest technol- ogy to assure purity. As president of the Indepen-
dent Special Districts of Orange County and a member of the Wa- ter Advisory Committee of OC, I strive to ensure our concerns are voiced and acknowledged in a state whose water supply is “run- ning on empty.” Call me (714) 998-2964.

Girl Scouts help restore Santiago Creek
Dozens of Girl Scouts from all
over Orange County converged on Hart Park on Sept. 27 to help clear, clean and replant a section of the riparian habitat in Santiago Creek devastated by fire earlier this year.
The girls worked in partnership with the City of Orange and vol- unteers from AECOM Technolo- gy Corporation and Home Depot. The restoration effort was in honor of National Public Lands Day.
