Welcome to Amsterdam for Euro Attractions Show (EAS) 2014!

On behalf of IAAPA’s 4,500 member companies in 90 counties around the world, welcome to EAS 2014, the premier conference and trade show for the attractions industry in Europe! It’s going to be a great show! It is also great to be here in the Benelux region where our industry has such a wonderful history and so many great attractions! This year’s show features the largest exhibit floor in EAS history! More than 425 companies from 33 countries around the globe are here to share their new and innovative products and services. Whether you are a long-time operator of an amusement park, a curator at a museum, the owner of an indoor playground, a water park manager, or you are new to the attractions industry, I am confident you will find some great new ways to drive your

business on the show floor. I know I will. We have also planned a great education

programme featuring 11 sessions led by industry pioneers, veterans, and CEOs. Please take full advantage of these unique learning opportunities and share your experiences with others. This is a great week for learning and building your professional network.

While you are here, please stop by IAAPA Central (Stand 7406 in Hall 7) to meet members of the IAAPA staff and get the latest information on IAAPA’s activities and events. Like the industry in Europe, IAAPA and EAS are strong and growing. Thank you for being here to be a part of that success.

EAS is today unrivalled in size, diversity, and

quality, and here in Amsterdam we see the biggest trade show floor and most ambitious conference programme in its history. This is no coincidence including Amsterdam, Netherlands and the Benelux-region represents one the primary hubs in the European attraction industry, with world-class attractions and forward thinking manufactures and suppliers to the industry. But what is equally important to the trade show and conference programme is the role that

EAS plays when bringing together the European attractions industry every a year. With the industry being very specialized and often regionally based, operating or supplying to attractions can be a rather lonely journey. It is often unlikely, that you find the next big idea around the corner – or the solution to a specific problem down the road.

However, this is where EAS plays a crucial role for our industry. EAS is the very essence of a meeting place, where we can gather, learn, and share with each other. And a venue, where 1 + 1 becomes 3, because of the sum of all our capacities are much higher than our individual capability. Make the most of it – and thank you for being here!
