Norfolk’s Helpline Help and advice for 16 - 19 year olds


August can be just a massive stress if you are someone getting their GCSE and A level results. Tere are so many options available to young people now, staying on at school, moving on to college, sixth form college or university or starting on- the-job training or an apprenticeship. You probably need some advice on what the bejesus to do now, right? Maybe you didn’t get the results you needed. Maybe you’ve got better than you expected. Maybe you just don’t know. Either way, help is at hand with expert help available at Norfolk’s Helpline.

04 October Oxjam Norwich


Oxjam Norwich, our part of the annual nationwide music festival, which raises money for Oxfam's fight against global poverty will be hitting the city centre's streets on Saturday October 4. Te Vagaband and Killamonjambo are confirmed to play at Karma Kafe. Te Murderers is celebrating its reinvention as a live music venue with Te Tinking Men (last year's 'Next Big Ting' winners). Bedfords will host to Milly Hirst and Emily Winng amongst others. Te Owl Sanctuary's PA system will be put to the test by Back Down Or Die, and the Birdcage will offer spoken-word entertainment, with local writer John Osborne.


Te festival's launch night is on October 2nd at Open, with Dumbfoundus and Feral Mouth kicking things off. On October 3rd the music heads to the beautiful Elm Farm Country House in Horsham St Faith.

09-11 October Norwich Sound & Vision Venues across Norwich


Norwich Sound & Vision returns for their fifth year in 2014, aiming to bring you three days of lively debate, discussion, information, advice and inspiration for anyone who is involved (or would like to be) in the music/ radio/ TV/ film/ multimedia industries. Alongside the conference there are three nights of great music in venues across the city, craft beers, a young person’s stage and so much more. Already confirmed are Public Service Broadcasting, the Radiophonic Workshop and Ulrich Schnauss, but there’s so many more exciting line up announcements yet to come! Earlybird wristbands which get you into all the evening gigs are currently for sale on the website at £35. Te search is also on for volunteers to help make this exciting festival happen. If you are successful in your application, you could be working in many different roles ranging from stewarding events, assisting the marketing team, front of house and more.
