Jessica: I love the rush you get as the roller coaster
free falls from the peak of the ride…so much fun. Daisy: Is that like the rush I get when I use…Never
mind, I shouldn’t talk about my nail polish remover in that context. Jessica: You know, we’ve been talking about
the month of September and all its events . But girl, you forgot to mention the most important thing that happens! It’s this girl Jessica’s Birthday! Yes honey, my birthday is just around the corner, so, on Thursday, September 11, I’ll be expecting gifts and facebook posts from all you lovely folks. Daisy: The reason I didn’t mentioned it, is because
you haven’t figured out what you want to do to cele- brate. We can’t very well announce a party when you don’t even know what you want to do. And, I don’t think people will fly to Puerto Vallarta to celebrate your birthday! Daisy: Okay, it’s time for another quick shameless

plug. On Tuesday, September 16 I have been asked to emcee Karaoke Night at El Camino in Little Italy. September 16 is Mexican Independence Day, so to celebrate, they asked this Latina to bring some “spice” to their ever-popular karaoke night. The fun starts at 8:30 p.m.., so come out and sing your little hearts out! Jessica: Don’t forget to mention the Golden
Chicks show that following Thursday, September 18 at #1Fifth Avenue. Daisy: You know it, Sis! I hope to see everyone at
WOW QUE CALOR! It seems that the heat is not the only thing we had
to deal with in August. In addition to a month full of fun, it has been a month of growing pains.. Daisy: We headed to Orange County Pride for
a day of fun and community. It’s one of the smaller Prides in SoCal but it is really a great gathering of young and old. The street scene reminded me of Cityfest which happened to take place the day after O.C. Pride, so it was back-to-back street festivals for us. Between the food, drinks and goodies purchased, we had a great time. At the end of the month, I had the pleasure of
attending Cirque de la Symphonie with my lovely mother and little niece as part of the Summer Pops Concert Series. It was a fantastic performance and I had so much fun packing a picnic for the three of us. Something else we have been dying to try is
“happy hour” at Kato Sushi. We love their food, but I can’t seem to make my way beyond their delicious appetizers—you all have to try them. Did we men- tion also that all summer long the Dog House Bar & Grill has Movie Night Tuesday Nights? Grab your furry friends (and their dogs, too) and make it a movie date under the stars. Jessica: We also want to say, “Thank you” to
everyone who voted for us. The Rage Monthly was honored with the award for 2014’s Outstanding Publication at this year’s Nicky Awards. The cer- emony took place at the new downtown library. Girl,

if you haven’t checked it out yet, you should, because it is fantastic! I hear they also have books, so you can read. Yes, darlings, books actually come in paper form and not just as a download. Who knew?
IT’S SEPTEMBER ALREADY... That means it is back to school for all our young
readers and the inspiration for our photo, courtesy of Dennis Covey, topping this month’s column. Jessica: Tee-hee, you said “topping!” Dennis
always makes us look so good, even as a naughty teacher and student. We’re starting our recommendations for this
month with South Bay Pride on Saturday, Sep- tember 13 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. It takes place at the Chula Vista Bayfront Park and is a day of music, art, food and organizations. Just a fun day out in the sun. Daisy: I love South Bay Pride, it’s like a day in the
park with your friends. Jessica: Friends? Daisy, don’t lie, you shady thing.
You have no friends. One of our favorite road trips we look forward to
is heading up north every year to attend Out on the Mountain at Six Flags Magic Mountain. On Friday, September 19, Six Flags closes down at 6 p.m. to host “gay night” at the park. This year’s special en- tertainment has Miss Alyssa Edwards from RuPaul’s Drag Race. Better get your tickets today at outonthe-

our bi-monthly shows, filled with fun surprises and guest performers. There is no cover, with drink spe- cials and your glitzy, glamorous, Golden Chicks. Another important event to note on your calendar
at the end of the month is AIDS WALK San Diego, on Saturday, September 27. Come out and walk, this year is the event’s 25th anniversary! You can still join a team or just donate, but you know you need to walk. Jessica: It is only once a year and you’re walking
for a good cause, so put on your sneakers and walk. Our final recommendation is the fantastic Broad-
way show, Kinky Boots (see our featured interview on page 22) live at the Civic Theatre downtown from Tuesday, September 23 through Sunday, Sep- tember 28. This fantastic musical inspired by a true story, includes original music by the ever-talented Cyndi Lauper... and lots of sexy boots! Daisy: It’s drag queen heaven and you won’t want
to miss seeing it. There are plenty of other events taking place this
month so, for all the other events, check out our calendar on page 64. With that, we say, “Adios Amigos!” Enjoy the month and have some fun.
