where a process of ion separation takes places, breaking the salt into a hypochlorous acid (chlorine). The chlorine is released electrochemically, under control. Afterwards the ions recombine, recomposing the salt. The process repeats itself continuously or whenever necessary.


SEAL Pool Equipment is another company specialising in the design and manufacturing of top of the range chlorinators and other swimming pool equipment.


The company first launched its popular range of saltwater chlorinators, the CL series for residential facilities. They have also recently developed the SEAL Pup, a chlorinator for small pools and spas. Irradiation by its high-output UV lamps is highly effective in controlling algae and killing chlorine-resistant organisms. What’s more, it releases no by-products into the water. Electricity consumption is minimised by the high efficiency of the low-pressure lamps and is enhanced by an automatic pre-set internal flow switch which shuts the unit down when there is no flow. The units are compact and are designed for easy, inexpensive installation and connection. Maintenance costs are reduced by a robust construction that includes a 100% corrosion-resistant, UV-inhibited, polymeric reactor vessel and long (18 months) UV lamp life. giving a choice of two, three or four UV lamps, according to the flow to be treated – which can be anything up to 40 cubic metres per hour. A powerful UV dose of 30 mJ per square centimetre can be delivered. UV systems not only provide disinfection against the 17 known chlorine resistant micro-organisms, such as Cryptosporidium and Giardia, which have a thick outer membrane making them highly resistant to traditional chlorine disinfection, UV also destroys chloramines.
