Well fi nally the UK weather has managed back-to-back decent summers! It’s something the industry has badly needed and when combined with an ever-improving economy that is growing faster and stronger than many had predicted, the result is, it seems, that businesses on the whole in our industry are experiencing what can appropriately be described as ‘buoyant times’!

In this summer issue of SPN, we’ve our usual wide range of features which cover a number of subjects within the wet leisure industry. They include the latest in hot technology and innovations, liner pools and on-site liners, water testing products (an area that has progressed rapidly recently thanks to the latest technology) and water treatment products that feature no or low chlorine use.

There’s also a thought provoking piece from Golden Coast’s Jamie Adams on what constitutes a fair price plus an article from the STA on ‘Testing And Reaction’ which is aimed at commercial operators but contains useful information for all.

Our August issue traditionally carries information for the commercial sector and inside you’ll fi nd our ’10 Great Money Savers and Revenue Generators’ feature which is aimed specifi cally at owners and operators, plus there’s a Project Showcase which has

Still on the subject of commercial pools, there’s also a look ahead to Leisure Industry Week (LIW) at Birmingham’s NEC which is the annual show that aims to offer the complete package for those in the sector. We also have a preview on interbad, the Stuttgart based German show which is playing an increasingly important role on the European trade show scene thanks to an ever expanding international feel. SPN will be attending both of these events so perhaps we will see you there?

In addition to these features, we have our regular stories from the British Swimming Pool Federation (BSPF) which this issue includes some key information on biocides as well as a follow up piece on standards, plus there’s our usual roundup of all the latest news and views from across the UK wet leisure industry and around the world.

As mentioned in previous editions, if you have a swimming pool, hot tub or spa installation that you couldn’t enter in the SPATA or BISHTA Awards but feel is an award winner in its own right, please do get in touch as we are serious about showcasing the best from the UK. The same is true for press releases too. As the offi cial magazine for the industry, we’re keen to publish relevant and quality content to the industry as a whole.

One fi nal note. Make sure you’re a regular visitor to the SPN website as there is always exclusive content published within its pages that doesn’t appear in the magazine. If you’re into social media, why not follow us on Twitter or Facebook too as new news items are highlighted on each.
