A warm welcome awaits you at Bearsted Club
SITUATED on Bearsted Green in the heart of the old village, Bearsted and Thurnham Club has a history dating back more than a hundred years. Now a flourishing private members’ club, it
started life in a house and on moving to its existing premises, installed what was then a luxury feature – a bath. In 1906, this was very important to the farming community as members could pop in to recover from a hard day’s work in the fields.
Since these early days, our friendly club, which is an untied free house, has grown into a major venue in the village with over 600 men only members enjoying a wide range of facilities. Our lounge is shortly being refurbished and will offer even more comfort in the near future. Members and their gentleman and lady guests can relax over a drink and perhaps a delicious hot or cold home-made meal which is freshly prepared and served all opening hours. These are Monday to Sat from Noon - 11.00 pm, and on Sundays from Noon - 10.30 pm.
Sports fans are particularly well catered for with a newly refurbished snooker room boasting two top class tables and the lounge offers two TV's with Sky & BT sports packages and the latest high jackpot gaming machines. We host regular quizzes, poker tournaments and live bands and throughout the year there are a number of external social events, including golf tournaments, days at the races and trips to the Continent. Each August Bank Holiday we challenge Bearsted Cricket Club to an annual one day cricket match and, to date, this has raised over £15,000 for local charities.
The club provides free Wi-Fi and this extends to our enclosed patio overlooking The Green. We can accommodate members' celebrations within the club
