barryo@stearns.com to Mon, Tues & Thurs 9:30-11a.m. & , to Tues & Thurs. 6:15 to 7:15 p.m.* The inaugural season of
Shakespeare in the Cannery takes place over 6 weekends from July 18th through August 23rd on Friday and Saturday evenings in historic Railroad Square in Santa Rosa. The enormous remaining cannery walls transform into the back- drop of “fair Verona” where the play is set. The audience will be delighted with two original pieces of music composed spe- cifically for this version of The Bard’s classic play. Jan Lembke is a musician and
composer who was raised in Brussels, Belgium and resides in Sonoma County. Lembke, as co-owner of L & M Piano Ser- vices, has an expert understand- ing of pianos and their capabili- ties. According to their website, “The love and passion for the piano has led us to become proud owners of a piano service and piano rental business for the Bay Area.” Lembke is himself, an avid piano player and t a l e n t e d composer who wrote the two songs for Shak e - speare in the Can- nery’s Ro- meo and
Juliet; which is artfully directed by his father David Lear, a thir- ty-year theater veteran. Dana Scott is the choreog- rapher who brings to life the music composed by Lembke in this production of Romeo and Juliet. She has been dancing for over 20 years and choreograph- ing for 15 years. Additionally, she is a classically trained ac- tor and director; which, helps with her translation of the mu- sic into a theatrical dance-style for the stageplay. Scott muses about the dance nuances for this production remarking that it is

half a day, I decided to pack it in and head to a motel. We didn’t make it the full
two weeks, but eleven days isn’t too bad for a Mom! I think we all learned quite a bit on that adventure, the biggest lesson being that marshmallows are extremely flammable and next to impossible to get out of hair. Happy camping everyone!
