Bewo places two machines and received excellent grading

T

he Dutch company Bewo Cutting Systems B.V. have installed two complete automatic cutting lines

at Ruukki Metals Oy, in Finland. Ruukki rated the delivery and installation and graded Bewo excellent.

Bewo designs and produces automatic lines for cutting, deburring, length checking, cleaning and stacking of tubes in all kinds of sizes and quantities. Ruukki, specialise in steel and steel constructions, and have purchased an SCF-90 Sigma, and, an ECH-115 Solid. Both cutting lines are now installed and fully operational. The high rating for the delivery and installation of the Sigma and Solid is mainly due to the intensive training Ruukki’s operators have completed at Bewo. During training the operators learned al ins and outs of the Bewo cutting lines. After installation at Ruukki, the operators immediately started working with them, thanks to their training. The high degree of user friendliness of the cutting lines is of added value. For example, the stacking robot is easily set up by using the Bewo cutting line’s central touchscreen control panel.

The Sigma and Solid at Ruukki are both equipped with a deburring machine, a length control unit and a stacking robot. The Sigma is known for its low costs per cut. These are result of the combination of the Bewo clamping jaw system (enables multiple cutting), and the servo-controlled gripper feed (for quick and accurate cutting). Ruukki chose the Sigma for these reasons, plus the quick changeovers. After completing a batch (sometimes a batch of only 1.600 tubes), the Sigma has to be changed over. However, changing over the Sigma is simple and it takes just 12 minutes. The Sigma is used for cutting the variable (larger and smaller) series of tubes. The Solid is more suited for larger diameters and wall thicknesses. Therefore Ruukki is using the Solid for heavy  Ruukki works to a high degree of automation. Their operator does no longer receive work order tickets because the data is directly read into the cutting machines. In the last quarter, there is a striking increase in demand for Bewo’s automatic cutting lines. Last months, Bewo has won orders for complete automation cutting lines for a specialist conveyor and another in the automoyive industry. Bewo’s Marcel Veenstra said “Bewo sees a healthy increase in market demand, plus Bewo’s market- oriented focus. Take for example, the long collaboration with their English service partner - JHP Engineering Service. For UK based companies who are interested in new Bewo cutting lines, JHP will provide fully specialised and

experienced service over the enture UK. Bewo have also seen a rise in the sales of the manual operated Bewo CPO-315 saw. Obviously the market is showing some revival, and customers  on the new Bewo webshop is of  introduced this webshop for the CPO-315 and its spare parts in January 2014, for dealers and end users in the Benelux countries. Customers feedback is positive, and the ordering process is easier for them and gives them access to all relevant information.
