very child is also entitled to two FREE Bookstart packs containing books, helpful guidance for parents and carers and all sorts of other free goodies. Bookstart is a national programme that encourages all parents and carers to share and enjoy books with children from as early an age as possible. The packs are given out as follows:


Bookstart Baby Pack - this pack is given out by your health visitor at the 3-6 month health contact. If you don’t attend this, you can collect a pack from any library or children’s centre.

The First Bookstart Pack is for babies aged 0-12 months


Bookstart Treasure Pack is for children aged 3-4 years

Bookstart Treasure Pack - this pack is given to your 3 - 4 year old child by their pre-school, nursery or childminder during their last year before school. If they don’t attend any of these, you can collect a pack from any library or children’s centre.
