Message from the ORHA Youth!

ORHyA was nothing less than a suc- cess. It would be hard to deny the fact that the Youth worked together extremely well to achieve great things. Our many successful fundraisers, such as the stick horse class, bake sale, and egg and spoon race were enjoyed by all, and allowed us to raise the money necessary for us to receive wonderful awards. At the banquet, the Youth who met all of the requirements were each presented with jackets, thanks to our hard work. We were also able to

Cassie Apolloni as President, Sarah O’Grady as Vice President, Tristan Stevens as Treasurer, and Amanda Peters as Secretary; however, the ban- quet was a time to vote on our new board members. The results of this vote consisted in Sarah O’Grady becoming President for 2014, with Tristan Stevens as Vice President, and Brianna Pecore as Secretary. We feel

that these board members will be able to take our successes from last year and improve upon them further. Along with these events, we celebrated many award winners within the Youth. For high point in varsity, Sara

Youth as the individuals who receive this award are always positive and extremely focused on creating a posi- tive environment within their sport. This year, the recipient for the Sports- manship award was Tristan Stevens, for his hard work with fundraisers and overall positive attitude. The Most Improved Youth award is also extreme- ly important to our Youth as it is a chance for us to come together and acknowledge each other’s accomplish- ments. We do not always see these changes within ourselves; therefore, it is important that we make these recipi- ents aware of their great strides. For 2013, the Most Improved Youth for the ORHyA was Brianna Pecore. This year, being the year of the horse, should be nothing less than spec-

tacular. The Youth have already gotten the ball rolling and are planning to hold a bake sale at the Spring Thaw show, which is to be held at Fletcher’s Horse World. We have also decided to contin- ue the varsity program for 2014, which allows the Youth to earn points for their hard work throughout the season, and in return receive awards depending on the number of points that they accumulate. The Youth have hit the ground running in 2014, and hopefully their enthusiasm continues throughout this season. We would like to thank all of our supporters throughout the 2013 season, and we look forward to seeing each of you in the spring!
