RCYOKAN O LLE G E

PROVIDING ONLINE, INTERACTIVE education programs to small, mutually-

supportive groups participating in virtual (live/ real time) classrooms, Ryokan College helps to prepare adult learners for professional careers in human behavior, counseling psychology, and clinical psychology. At Ryokan, we offer:

 An affordable tuition

 A class schedule tailored to the working adult  An education taught by practicing clinicians  A program that has definite starting and

completion dates  A supportive, non-competitive environment

LIVE ONLINE CLASSES Synchronous classes mean a student joins classmates and instructors online at a specific day and time of the week in a virtual classroom. Ryokan’s online education is not a correspondence program whereby the student receives downloads of information in a sterile model of academic learning. At Ryokan College, the online programs require active participation in the virtual classroom. Faculty members are selected both for their expertise as practicing clinicians who enjoy teaching and for their proficiency in working within the internet environment. The online program replicates an on campus experience through cohort learning, interactive education (where students regularly speak with classmates and instructors) and collaborative learning (where student/ instructor interactions replace lectures).
