OCEC BECOMES CATALYST FOR OMAN DEVELOPMENT
FRHI TO DOUBLE ITS REGIONAL FOOTPRINT
FRHI Hotels and Resorts (Fairmont Raffles Hotels International), the hotel management company operating the Raffles, Fairmont and Swissôtel brands, has announced the development of seven new hotels in the Middle East, Africa and India (MEAI) region. The new properties will
double FRHI’s regional footprint by 2020. Presently, FRHI has
19 hotels in the MEAI region. Locations for the new properties include Jeddah in Saudi Arabia, where two hotels will open, and three upcoming developments in Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt. In Dubai, the 276-room
Swissôtel Jaddaf will be located five minutes away from Dubai International Airport while Fairmont Lagos, Nigeria, will offer 220 rooms and 50 residences.
“Our newly announced
projects represent significant growth for FRHI and support our global strategy of growing by 50 percent in five years,” said Michael Glennie, FRHI President and Chief Operating Officer. “Increasing the footprint
of our hotel brands is critical to our success. We look forward to exploring opportunities throughout the region,” he added.
