WHAT THE EXHIBITORS SAY... A SELECTION OF ARABIAN TRAVEL MARKET EXHIBITORS SHARE THEIR GOALS AND AMBITIONS FROM THE SHOW
RAMESH PATNAIK General Manager
Discovery Travel I’ve been attending Arabian Travel Market since the beginning. As a company, Discovery Travel always attends the show with lots of expectations, not only in business, but also in networking. Signing new contracts and collecting marketing proposals helps us plan our strategies. This year, we’ve come up with a new concept for the region, which is something exclusively for women. We’ve created a separate division just for the ladies and offer women-only holiday packages. Visit stand AS6336
HAKAN PETEK General Manager
Jumeirah Messilah Beach Hotel & Spa We’re from Kuwait and we have a lot of guests coming from the UAE, Qatar and Saudi Arabia. Our main aims are to attract as much business as possible to Kuwait because it is not yet very well-known as a destination. We are, however, doing very well largely due to the brand Jumeirah, which is always well received, especially in the GCC market. Arabian Travel Market is a very important event for us because everybody is here, including all the agencies and dot com businesses. Our key message is: ‘Please visit Kuwait!’ Visit stand HC5330
ROLANDO AEDI Executive VP/Chief Marketing Officer
Greater Miami Convention & Visitors Bureau Miami is enjoying a direct service for the first time from the region on Qatar Airways starting from June 10 and that opens up not just the GCC region, but the Indian subcontinent too. Previously, the region was one of the only continents that wasn’t directly served. Last year was our first year at Arabian Travel Market and when our Vice President of Tourism returned, he decided to make a commitment to the region. We’re ecstatic because Miami is a very successful destination. Visit stand AM1110
MATTHIAS ALBRECT Director GCC
Switzerland Tourism We love coming to Arabian Travel Market because it’s a very good business-to-business opportunity. It’s a great chance to inspire our business colleagues as well as Switzerland’s partners. The aim is to meet with travel agents and tour operators and for them to meet with our partners. It is not necessarily all about signing contracts; it’s mainly about maintaining contacts and meeting influential people. This year, we want to showcase all Switzerland’s beautiful views, so we’re displaying our picturesque landscapes. Visit stand EU8020
DAVE GERDES Vice President Sales & Marketing
Pacific Hospitality Group We launched our hotel collection only a year ago so we’ve been travelling around the world promoting it. This is our first trip to the Middle East. We were at a show in Berlin, Germany, in March and we’ve seen more visitors in day one of Arabian Travel Market than we saw in the first two days in Berlin, so we’re very excited. There seems to be a lot of interest from this part of the world. We’re here with a group of great hotels and everyone agrees that there seems to be a genuine interest in California this year. HASAN AL SHEHABI Business Development Director
Golden Tulip Bahrain Hotel We’ve been coming to Arabian Travel Market since the beginning so we have seen the show‘s development year by year. We come here in order to catch up with our colleagues in the industry and find out about the latest trends, any exciting new projects underway and other interesting developments taking place in the travel and tourism industry that we should be aware of. In addition to knowing what's going on it is useful to keep an eye out for anything we might want to take home and implement in our destination. Visit stand ME1510

Helen Holidays The Middle East represents an extremely important market for us and Arabian Travel Market is the ideal place to meet key clients that we wouldn’t have access to back in Istanbul. Here at the show, we are taking the chance to meet up with our co-partners in the region and, at the same time, reach out to a wider audience. It's a unique opportunity to showcase all our services and, ultimately, to encourage more people from the region and beyond to visit Turkey and enjoy all that the country has to offer. MANAS RANJAN PATTANAIK Director
India Tourism We are looking to position India as a luxury destination and attract more visitors from this part of the world. The Indian subcontinent is a year- round destination and the tourism product we offer is incredibly varied and uncluttered. Arabian Travel Market provides us with an ideal forum to showcase this. Compared to the 2013 edition of the show, there seems to have been even more exhibitors this year, which makes it even more beneficial and important for us to have been present. Visit stand AS6720

Lexington Gloria Hotel – Doha This is our first time exhibiting at Arabian Travel Market as Lexington Gloria Hotel is a relatively new property, having been only open a year. This is a great place for us to communicate with potential clients from around the world and also to present the high level of hospitality on offer in Qatar. The country has a lot to offer visitors with a wide selection of attractions and excellent visitor facilities that place us on a par with some of the top tourism destinations in the region.
