The Roberto Bucci Group, based in London, Naples, Salerno and Genova have been the market leaders in the Anglo-UK Italian container and NVOCC trade for over 30 years. The company has made a substantial investment in 45ft containers which are presently used for the movement of produce by rail and sea for use in the food industry. Mr Roberto Bucci, CEO, sees this as a major step forward for the Group, who are con- tinuing to look to future development and investment in order to provide the best solu- tion for its customers in terms of transportation and cost effectiveness. There are also major environmental benefits with Rail/Intermodal and Sea from Salerno/Naples and La Spezia with an average transit of just 7 days from date of sailing to Felixstowe. Likewise a rail service is available should a container not be able to wait for the weekly sailings from these ports.

The internal dimensions of the containers are: 13.553 metres long x 2.480m wide x 2.692m high with a cubic capacity of 90.8m3.

Multipurpose Terminal

The Group also wholly owns Terminal Flavio Gioia in the Port of Naples (a capital investment of €3 million).

Since 1997 it has been dealing with handling and stacking of containers, break bulk and project cargo.

Since December 2004 TFG has operated a new terminal with an area of 33,000sq m, loading-docks (quays) of over 680 meters, three Gottwald mobile cranes and a Gottwald general cargo crane. This provides enough handling capacity to service all shipping lines, receivers and their suppliers. The terminal also specialises in the handling of reefer containers.

In addition to weekly sailings from the Ports of Salerno, Naples and La Spezia to all UK Major ports, the company operates road grou- page services from Italy to the UK and has a weekly consolidation service from Naples to London, as well as full load trailers from Italy and the rest of Europe.

The London office of the Group has in the past year started addi- tional services from Spain, Por- tugal, Turkey, Greece and the Far East which are showing month on month growth. The company has a major advantage over its com- petitors in being a small very ex- perienced team and able to react quickly and effectively to any de- mands placed on them. Clients continue to place their trust in us and find solutions to meet their specific requirements in terms of cost and transit time.

The

company, which is a member of the Through Transport Club (TT Club) in London moves consider- able amounts of consignments a month from Italy, by sea, road and rail to the UK in addition to the Italian offices’ activity with other countries.

In addition to the movement of food produce the company also moves general cargo and is heavily involved in the movement of construction material being used in the rebuilding of London Bridge railway station.
