pinch to zoom in and out of a shared screen and, of course, share documents from any other app on your iPad with others on their computer or iPad. It’s simple to use. After you have the app on your iPad, you direct your friends, colleagues or clients to the website where they can start a meeting or join an ad hoc meeting. Tey only need to click share which generates a 9 digit code and allows them to share their screen. Or, if you host a meeting, you simply login with your
join.me account and click share then invite friends to share your screen. And, although I have mentioned the iPad mostly, this app is available on both the iOS and the Android system. So you can have this on your iPhone as well as your android smartphone.
GOOGLE MAPS/GOOGLE NAVIGATION . Although this app used to be standard on nearly every smartphone including the iPhone and iPad, it has grown up a little and become a lot more useful than its original versions. Further, Apple
has decided to use its own map system and has abandoned this version. But it is still available in the iTunes app store. Tis app, which most are familiar with, will not only find an address but now, with most iPads and smart phones having GPS systems incorporated, it essentially makes having a Garmin, Magellan or other GPS system a needless expense. You can load this app onto your smart phone or iPhone and have it pull and locate an address directly from your calendar, contacts, email, text messages and more. Moreover, it now gives you the voice commands which will tell you turn by turn how to get to your destination from your current location.
But what makes it more appealing than the Garmin,
Magellan or other GPS navigation systems is that the map system utilizes Google and therefore is automatically up to date without you having to buy a new map to install. Even better combine this with your smart phone and a car dock for your phone and you can use the Google search system to find nearly anything and instantly get directions to it. As you would expect, this app is available on both the iOS system or the Android system.
KINDLE . While this device is a tablet itself, advanced users also know that the app is available on the iPad and other devices. Moreover, the app syncs with your Amazon Kindle account and therefore makes available any and all books you
have purchased in the past. Keep in mind that not only is this a good device for keeping up on your reading, it also allows you to take along with you digital versions of your legal library. You can purchase, for example, a copy of the Federal Rules Of Civil Procedure in a Kindle edition on Amazon for $16.49. Or, Moore’s Manual: Federal Practice and Procedure is also available on the Kindle as well. Tus, this app can allow you to carry more of your library with you for working on the go.
LINKEDIN . Needless to say, exchanging business cards in this day of electronic documents seems a little passé. In fact, nearly everyone has an account on LinkedIn. As a result, it simply makes sense to carry the ubiquitous app with you
and make the connection using your smart phone immediately
