Much has been said about Beyoncé. The majority of the headlines are fawning (Queen B Rules the World!), some

absurd (Beyoncé Fakes Pregnancy!), and the rest innocuous (Beyoncé Lip Syncs at Obama’s Inauguration!). But one thing is concrete: Beyoncé Giselle Knowles Carter is one of the most discussed women in the world.

BY ISOUL HARRIS

A New Gig The world adores her, as evidenced by the success of the fi rst half of the Mrs. Carter Show World Tour, which will have staged a takeover of 15 countries before arriving Stateside. The 17-time Grammy winner — with 45 total nods, she and country diva Dolly Parton are tied as the most Grammy-nominated women in history — kicks off the North American leg of the tour on Friday, June 28, at the BET Experience at L.A. Live, the new weekend festival at the Staples Center that culminates with the 2013 BET Awards on Sunday, June 30. Launching the network’s celebration of music, entertainment and culture is

fi tting: The Houston-bred beauty appeared with Destiny’s Child at the very fi rst BET Awards in 2001, performed her now classic “Crazy in Love” at the 2003 show, and has either presented at, performed at or attended almost every show since. Her dynamic music and captivating acts are a part of the show’s DNA.
