reported a need for leave donations: • Vincent Aiken is an alcohol and


substance abuse treatment program assistant at Hale Creek Correctional Facility in Johnstown. The former council leader of PEF Division 390, Aiken has exhausted his leave while undergoing treatment for advanced kidney disease and will need a kidney transplant in the future. To donate leave to him, call the personnel office at 518-736-2094, ext. 3600. • Erick Anderson is a nurse 2 at the state


Veterans Home at St. Albans in Queens. He has exhausted his leave while being treated for post-traumatic stress disorder following the loss of his son who was murdered in front of their home in June. To donate leave to Anderson, call the facility human relations department at 718-990-0300. • Charles Ashelman is an information


technology specialist 3, systems programming, for the state Insurance Fund in Albany. He exhausted his leave during an eight month illness that has finally been diagnosed as advanced cancer. He needs to be absent from work for an extended period while undergoing treatment. To donate leave to him, call the personnel office at 212-312-9105. • Joseph Brannigan is a narcotics


investigator 1 for the state Health Department on Long Island. After two-and- a-half years of drawing on his leave to help his wife through cancer treatments, Brannigan no longer has enough leave left to cover his absence while recovering from his own hip-replacement surgery. representative trainee at the state Labor Department in Rochester. She exhausted her medical leave and was confined to bed rest awaiting the birth of twins in December. She continues to need leave to care for them. To donate leave to Ceravolo, call the DOL human resources office at 518-457-9045. • Melissa Conklin is a management


specialist 1 for the state Office of Temporary and Disability Assistance (OTDA) in Harlem. She has exhausted her leave while being treated for serious complications to gall bladder surgery following pregnancy. She is currently receiving rehabilitative therapy. representative trainee 1 at the state Labor Department (DOL) in Newburgh. Treatments for repeated bouts with cancer have exhausted her sick leave and, while she is trying to return to work on at least a

family services specialist 1 at the state Office of Children and Family Services (OCFS) NYS Commission for the Blind in Albany. She has exhausted her leave undergoing treatment for breast cancer and will need to remain out of work for some time. Duncan also is blind as a result of diabetes. the state Department of Taxation and Finance in Albany. She needs leave donations while dealing with family medical issues following the sudden and traumatic loss of her husband. rehabilitation counselor at Sing Sing Correctional Facility, where he is council leader of PEF Division 323. Flauraud has used up his sick leave and liver failure has put him in urgent need of a liver transplant and of leave donations. To donate leave to him, call the facility at 914-941-0108 and ask for the personnel office. • Thomas Hammond is an addiction


counselor 1 at Creedmoor Addiction Treatment Center in Queens. He has exhausted his leave while undergoing treatment for complications to a chronic viral infection. To donate leave to him, call the OASAS Human Relations Department at 518-457-2963. • Imam Aleem Hassan is a chaplain at


Wende Correctional Facility in Erie County. He has exhausted his leave while recovering from a stroke. To donate leave to him, contact the Wende CF personnel office at 716-937-4000. • Robert Henderson is a parole officer at


Coxsackie Correctional Facility and is council leader of PEF Division 236. He has used all of his leave while receiving treatment for chronic back problems and now needs heart surgery. To donate leave to him, call the facility at 518-731-2781 and ask for the personnel department. • Kim Himes is an assistant


superintendent of construction for the state Office of General Services. She exhausted her leave while receiving treatment for another ailment and now must undergo surgery that will keep her off the job for four to six weeks. Contact the agency’s human resources department at 518-457-4272 to donate leave to her. • Paul Kartman is a labor services


representative at the state Labor Department in Buffalo. He exhausted his leave while caring for his late wife during


her three-year battle with cancer, and he is now undergoing treatment and counseling to deal with that loss. To donate leave to him, call Carole Brunner in the DOL human resources office at 518-457-9045. • Jim Mextorf is a program technology


analyst 3 at the state Office of Information Technology Services. He was transferred there from the state department of Motor Vehicles. He exhausted his leave while experiencing severe complications to diabetes, which necessitated the amputation of a leg and the replacement of his aortic heart valve, which was followed by a ruptured aneurysm in the brain. Although he now needs a kidney transplant, Mextorf has returned to work and is able to earn some leave to help cover his frequent doctor visits and dialysis. Community Hospital in Syracuse and a member of PEF Division 320, needs leave donations while she cares for her brother, a 20-year veteran police officer who is experiencing medical complications following surgery. To donate leave, contact Linda in the hospital’s Employee Benefits Department at 315-464-4943. • Catherine (Kit) Petitte is a nurse 2 at


SUNY Upstate Medical Center in Syracuse. She has exhausted her medical leave while undergoing continuing treatments for ovarian cancer. To donate leave to her, contact Linda Mazzone in human resources at the hospital. Her number is 315-464- 4943. • Brenda Richardson is a claims services


representative 2 at the state Insurance Fund on Long Island. A long battle with cancer used up her sick leave, but the cancer treatments seriously damaged her heart, kidneys and lungs which has required repeated hospitalizations since October 20, 2013. substance abuse treatment program assistant at Hudson Correctional Facility. He has exhausted his leave while receiving surgery and continuing treatments for cancer. To donate leave to him, contact Tina Miller in the facility’s personnel office at 518-828-4311. • Stacey Sapp is an offender


rehabilitation coordinator at Five Points Correctional Facility in Romulus. She has exhausted her leave while undergoing cancer treatments. To donate leave to her, call the facility personnel office at 607-869- 5111. • Regina Serrano is a community mental


health nurse at Pilgrim Psychiatric Center. She is recovering from serious injuries
