Market House Inn celebrating revamp J
ulie Tyler does not give the impression of being a first- time landlady– but that is what she is. The former property
developer and bookkeeper has been running the Market House since May 2013 and has very much enjoyed her time behind the bar. “Just before I opened I looked around and wondered: is this
the right thing to do – I’ve never done it before!” she laughs, “but I’ve loved every minute of it. I love meeting and chatting to people. They say variety is the spice of life and this place proves that! I was a regular here for four years before I bought the place so I know the people and what they love coming here for.
“We are the only place with the ability to show three sporting events at once and people love to come here for that
and for fun! I’ve felt very welcomed as a landlady and the community has been very open and friendly towards me – I feel right at home!” The pub has been transformed over January to become a
light welcoming place that still offers everything you want from a town centre pub, said Julie. “We are delighted at the makeover – it’s bright and
welcoming, whilst still retaining everything people loved about the place before. We are also opening the restaurant for Easter, and I think that will add another dimension to what we offer here. We have been serving good old-fashioned pub food that people love since I took over and with the new restaurant space upstairs we can offer customers another experience.” To find out what’s happening at the Market find it on
