Pellet packer A

t Expobioenergía 2013, Boga Técnica introduced the Series 8 range of fl at reel

multi-format packers with Vertical Flow Pack technology. Unlike intermittent cycle machines, this system is able to achieve production rates of up to 2,100 packs/hour.

Available in several sizes, the packers operate continuously and can be used for packing a variety of products, including wood pellets.

Among the most important features of the range is that the main up, down, open and close

movements of the soldering clamps are driven by independent brushless motors. These are controlled by an industrial PC with Ethernet output and USB port for all software update operations and temporary supervision and remote control via Modem and Internet. The innovative vertical solderer regulates and memorises the required air pressure and solder temperature for each task. There is also reel elevation with hydraulic coupling and a soldering bar for quick connection of a new reel. Tension of the reel is controlled electronically to

guarantee maximum stability of any type of plastic fi lm.

Sliding boom crane Drum chipper for pellets

A range of compact drum chippers is manufactured by Pezzolato and the model most in demand by small producers of pellets is the PTH 400 with electric motor and a discharge conveyor that reduces the emission of dust.

The closed drum with two, full width reversible blades produces high quality chips from whatever wood source is available (even branches) and the machine has been designed to ensure consistent performance and reduce maintenance.

The versatile selection of harvester cranes from Ponsse Plc provides special power and extra reach for all conditions. An easy-to-use, agile crane and the stability provided by eight wheels greatly increase productivity.

The exceptionally powerful Ponsse C5 crane with a reach of ten metres provides more lifting power and reliability for the company’s Ergo harvesters. The slewing moment of 57 kNm

is ensured by two direct-drive slewing motors and the crane is provided either with external or built-in hydraulic hose set. The boom head has been developed so that it allows the use of a multi-plate swing damper at the top of the hanger, which enables the harvester head to be used in a quicker yet more controlled way.

Powered by a tractor Power Take-Off or self-powered using either a diesel engine or electric motor, this model may be fed by hand or supplied by a mechanical crane. Its feeding mouth allows it to accommodate material measuring up to 500 x 400 mm.

The PTH400 can produce from 20-25 cu m of chips per hour to burn in home heating plants and to warm farms, garden centres and hotels.
