Meetings with Remarkable Men Film Screening
T
he Fourth Way Group, in Bonita Springs, is hosting a free viewing of the critically acclaimed, feature-length movie, Meetings with Remarkable Men, at 7 p.m., January 27, at the Unity Church of Bonita Springs. Directed by Peter Brook, the movie is based on the life of the famous and controversial spiritual teacher George Ivanovich Gurdjieff (1866-1949), who is remembered for his teachings, commonly known as The Fourth Way.
Gurdjieff posited that in addition to the three more
traditional ways to enlightenment, best embodied by fakirs, monks and yogis, that Western culture would more readily accept another way that worked on all aspects and conditions of a person simultaneously. He also warned of the dangers of “living in a deep and pervasive sleep” and the need to awaken and make full use of all of one’s and life’s possibilities.
