TAROT NOW Lover’s Card

by Kathleen Smith W

hile we give 2013 a quick kiss good-bye – or maybe a swift kick out the door – we’ve got

our eyes firmly focused on the wide open vista of 2014. I’m starting out this year a little

differently. I think my resolution-making will go out with the old year. Instead, I am questioning myself on next steps and asking what steps I should take that will help me navigate 2014. Often resolutions are about what we

think we should be doing with ourselves. Resolutions can become heavy baggage that loads us down and stops any forward movement. Another option is to focus on the steps, not the ultimate goal; what small steps forward can I make? The Lover’s Card symbols discuss

the choices we face throughout the year, either keeping with the familiar or risking the unknown to reach something new. Both old and new directions can provide exciting and surprising options, and being open to those opportunities is what keeps each new year alive and exciting! One small change, one conversation,

one new contact, a revamped resumé, one newly learned skill can provide momentum all year long. So, instead of “hard and fast” resolutions that may crumble and fail you, choose to take a fresh approach. Meet each new day with just a step forward. One step will turn into many, and you’ll exceed your expectations to reach your dreams.
