Genesis Technical Systems has unveiled mBond, a bonding
solution that is billed as allowing operators to increase their copper backhaul bandwidth by at least a factor of ten.
GTS claims that mBond is an
extremely cost effective alternative to fibre and microwave, enabling carriers to realise a far quicker and improved return on their investment. The technology is said to deliver 157 Mb/s at 1450 metres with a 12 pair topology – any number of pairs can be bonded, and when even more bandwidth is required the bonded pairs may be grouped. “Operators have been extremely impressed by the performance of our
mBond product in their networks over the recent months,” said Nigel Hall, GTS’ Managing Director.
