Fairmilehead Community Council recently reported an increase in break-ins in and around the Fairmile- head and Buckstone areas. Local PC Kenny Welsh

reported that there had been two break-ins in the last month on Buckstone Road and East Camus Road. Both occurred during the evening, and it was by smashing a window in the rear and jemmying the rear door. Jewellery was stolen along with an expensive mo- tor vehicle at the second break-in. Police have asked all

residents to be on the alert and in particular to look out for strange males seen walking in the area after be- ing dropped off. They use their mobile phones to com- municate and direct person- nel to their target house. One potential vehicle is a black Honda Civic. If you do spot anything suspicious, you should contact the po- lice.

There has also been a

spate of house breaking in the Grange area and I will be meeting with local residents and the police to try and get to the bottom of the prob- lem and to publicise the pre- cautions that residents can take.
