THE VINE
Hi gang. Where did the summer go? I was doing okay until they tossed
that daylight savings time thing at me again. That seems to throw me for a loop both in the spring and in the fall. But it’s all good. Let me thank you for taking the big plunge into being among the first to pay cold hard cash for an issue of our magazine. Like I said before, this was not an overnight decision. It was just that something had to be done to bring in a little bit of revenue. Espe- cially considering that the magazine is pretty much my job, so I’ve been counting on it to keep me afloat. And if you’ve ever tried to float a Buffalo... Anyway. We truly feel that $.99 is more than fair. Drop us a
line and let us know if you disagree. When I first dreamed up the idea of KUDZOO magazine, I cre-
ated a mockup cover design featuring Delaney and Bonnie with a header calling for their induction into the Rock ‘n Roll Hall of Fame. I guess it’s true that life imitates art, because my dream cover is now a reality. I’d like to throw my hat into the ring in support of the drive spearheaded by the Bramlett daughters to see Delaney and Bonnie inducted. I hope that each and every one of you will sign the online petition and write letters to the Hall of Fame. From what I understand the primary guys at the Hall of Fame are Robbie Robertson and Jan Wenner. One way to write to them is in care of Rolling Stonemagazine. Let’s get these kids into the hall! Nobody deserves it more. If you’re not sure why, just read my article. And thank you for standing with us. Also in this issue we are very pleased to feature an interview
with my fellow Mercer University Press author Jackie White; an interview with Col. Bruce Hampton; Roxanne Lark’s journey to historic Brattonsville; a portfolio of Peter Cross’s music photog- raphy; and much more. Remember, you can always download each issue to your com-
puter for offline viewing! While the magazine is open, look for “Options” in the upper left of your screen. Pull the drop-down menu to “download.” It downloads the issue to your desktop, complete with the goodies that let you flip the pages. You can also download as a PDF and load it onto your nook, Kindle or iPad! Thanks again for reading, and please feel free to send us your thoughts, emails and tweets.
