Give your child the best protection from illness

Vaccination is one of the greatest breakthroughs in modern medicine. No other medical intervention has done more to save lives in recent times.

Thanks to the NHS Childhood Vaccination Programme, children in the UK are now protected against many dangerous diseases. It’s easy to underestimate how important immunisations are because they continue to be so effective.

When your baby is about 6 weeks old you should automatically receive an invitation to take your baby to the doctors for their first immunisations (due when your baby is 2 months old).

If you’d like to talk more about the immunisation programme before then please contact your local Health Visitor or GP.

If you have an older child who has missed any of their vaccines and want to arrange this now, please just contact your GP surgery and make an appointment.
