RENO-411 On behalf of the NASDPTS Board and all state directors who attended

the STN Expo in Reno, I want to say “Tank You” and offer a round of ap- plause for your entire staff! You guys do such an outstanding job, and your hospitality is second to none! And not just that, but you guys are just a heck of a lot of fun to hang out with! Tis was my first Expo, and I had heard so many wonderful things about

it, and I certainly was not disappointed. It was truly a great learning expe- rience! Again, speaking for our board, we truly appreciated and enjoyed the

opportunity to participate and to be a part of your show! Max Christensen, NASDPTS President Des Moines

Facebook: Re: “Obama Admin-

istration Extends Final Implemen- tation Date for Federal Healthcare Overhaul,” posted online July 3. Of course at the same time

some operations are cutting to 29 hours to avoid paying health insurance to their drivers, others continue to be successful providing affordable health insurance to their employees. And guess what? Tose operations don’t struggle with driver turnover because it’s a job

you can live on. Why fight so hard to maintain a pay scale that doesn’t pay a living wage? Ted Finlayson-Schueler Safety Rules! Syracuse, N.Y.

Incredible. Sabotage the bus

drivers to avoid an essential benefit that for school bus drivers is not a benefit, but a trade-off for a stressful work that shortens lifes- pans. Rather dumb to stay with such employers, and I agree many will be smarter and leave these employers. James Kramer 2safeschools.org

For the Record A News Brief article on page 26 of the August edition incorrectly

listed the home state of Elizabeth “Charlie” McAlister, transportation supervisor at Springfield Public Schools in Missouri. McAlister was ran- domly chosen as the winner of the STN online trivia game “Play2Win,” and resulted in an all-expenses-paid trip to the STN EXPO in July, plus $100 spending cash. The article “Alternative State” in the July edition incorrectly stated

that Blue Bird partnered with ROUSH CleanTech to develop and market the first factory-direct, propane-powered school bus in 2006. Blue Bird actually partnered with CleanFUEL USA and joined forces with ROUSH in 2010 after CleanFUEL USA partner GM withdrew from the medium-duty market. The same article reported that GM offers both the G3500 and G4500 van-cutaway chassis to Type-A school bus body manufacturer Collins Bus Corporation. GM only offers the G3500 platform for these small school buses.
