Deva Premal & Miten Bring MantraFest to Miami

D

eva Premal & Miten will be in Miami on September 28 and 29 to bring the sacred spirit of In- dia’s ancient mantras to audiences at the South Miami-Dade Cultural Arts Center. The Miami concert is part of the MantraFest 2013 Tour, the duo’s 25-city North American tour, featuring special guests Ma- nose, Maneesh de Moor and The GuruGanesha Band. The couple fell in love play- ing meditation music together at an Indian ashram and have been sharing their love of that music with eclectic audiences across the globe ever since. For Premal, who was raised in the mystical traditions of the East, the spaces between the sounds are just as important as the music itself. “Music is nourish- ment, but then you have to give yourself time to take it in so you can reap its benefits,” she observes. Manose, a bamboo flute vir- tuoso from Nepal, is also featured on the couple’s latest release, A Deeper Light. “If ever we were to doubt that we are supported by the divine, we just have to turn around and look to see who is with us,” says Miten. “Manose is a gift from God. Just wait until you hear it all.”

Location: South Miami-Dade Cul- tural Arts Center, 10950 SW 211th St, Miami. For tickets, starting at $30, visit BrightStarEvents.net. Lis- ten to samples at DevaPremal Miten.com. See ad, page 51.
