A LARGE crowd took advantage of the hot weather to support the annual Real Ale Fes- tival and Twenty20 cricket match at Snod- land cricket meadow. In an exciting end to the match, Holmes-
dale Technology College Invitation XI beat the Snodland All Stars by one run. The school scored 111-4, with opener
Chris Prudence getting the top score of 51 not out, supported by Lee Downey, head of PE, on 44 not out. The All Stars managed 110-6, with Nathan Sims scoring 44 runs. Lee said: “It was another hot day with a fantastic turnout. Batting first, we gave the All Stars a total to chase and the youngsters shone with the ball, putting the older play- ers under pressure. “A game that went to the final ball pro-
vided excitement as Holmesdale won for a second successive year.” Graham Ives, who organised the All Stars

Contest draws 120 teams
THE Snodland five-a-side football tournament at Potyns Sportsfield proved a huge success, with 120 teams taking part and hundreds of specta- tors giving their support. Snodland won the under 10s and under 18s fi-
nals, and Chatham and Aylesford MP, Tracey Crouch, refereed under 7s and 8s matches.
