ness in combating upper respiratory infections and Candida albicans fungal infections. Propolis is also available in pill form.
Pelargonium sidoides is a favored option for Cates to abbreviate both the duration and severity of cold and flu, including any lingering cough or sore throat. This South African medicinal is also known as African geranium. Usually used in tincture form, it’s also useful against a large range of micro- bial infections.
One study from the Russian Insti- tute of Pulmonology reported that near- ly 70 percent of participating adults with bronchitis received relief within four days—more than double those that became well taking a placebo. Olive leaf extract was first men- tioned in the Bible and recent research confirms its effectiveness against a wide variety of microbial infections. A U.S. Department of Agriculture study pub- lished in the Journal of Food Science confirms that olive leaf extract is effec- tive in fighting food-borne pathogens like salmonella and E. coli, labeling it a broad-spectrum antimicrobial. New York University School of Medicine research published in Biochemical and Biophysical Research Communications showed that olive leaf extract reversed many HIV-related changes in the im- mune system.
Retired medical journalist Dr. Morton Walker, author of Nature’s An- tibiotic: Olive Leaf Extract, wrote that olive leaf extract “inhibits the growth of every virus, bacterium, fungus, yeast and protozoan it was tested against… and is effective against a minimum of 56 disease-causing organisms.” In a worst-case scenario, “If anti- biotics are the only alternative to treat a lab-confirmed bacterial infection, it’s vital to replace the beneficial intestinal bacteria inevitably wiped out by the drug,” concludes Cates. “Sometimes a few servings of a good natural yogurt (without sugar or fruit) will suffice. If not, look for a high-quality probiotic to restore the digestive system’s natural bacterial colony.”

David’s Story: Despair to Delight
I came to Alamo Heights Chiropractic Health Center barely able to walk, sit or stand due to severe, debilitating lower back pain.
I tried, unsuccessfully, to manage my pain with shots, steroids and muscle relaxers.
I thought surgery was my last available option. I was
transformed from despair in just two weeks at AHCHC. Three months later I was exercising at a high level through AHCHC’s integrated physical therapy program.
Dr. Tremblay’s tenacity in finding the correct therapy for each individual client
is equaled by her vast knowledge and
experience. AHCHC‘s integrated in-house physical therapy, headed by Jeff Carrell, is a critical component to their success formula. By combining the multiple therapies of a Chiropractic Center with world-class fitness facility, AHCHC helps its clients heal their bodies while also strengthening the critical muscles that reinforce, maintain, and support the progression towards healing.
Jeff has revolutionized my thinking about movement. Initially, I could
barely do simple stretches, but in a short time, Jeff guided our sessions to rise past each plateau. My experience with Dr. Tremblay, Jeff and the caring AHCHC team has been enlightening and has produced results in healing and health that exceed expectations.
Are you living with pain? Have you given up the things you love because you can’t move the way you used to? Let us help you get back on the right track. Our doctors, trainers, massage therapists and support staff are dedicated to your great future!
