this winter to be repowered. The fi rst was a 36-footer and the other a 33-footer, and they both were repowered with a Mercruiser. The owners were both very satisfi ed as both boats reached speeds of 20 knots. They were also very quiet having had Soundown and Soun- down muffl ers added. The 36 also received a new platform and seats. A Ron Rich 1960s built power boat was in to be refurbished. They only had her bottom paint left to do.

Still yet to do was a Dyer 29, which

needed paint. They said that there was still plenty of work. In fact there was a person talking to them about building a 28-foot pleasure tug, which would be similar to the one built by Chummy’s father back in 1963.

Morris Yachts of Bass Harbor changed the norm in sailboat manufacturing when they announced the design of their new cus- tom Infl atable Standup Paddleboard (iSUP) as an added benefi t with the purchase of an M46 sailing yacht. While paddle boarding often overlaps with the sailing lifestyle, no semi-custom production sailboat manufac- turer has ever offered a custom paddleboard alongside a sailing yacht, until now. To create the board, Morris Yachts partnered with Hawaii-based C4Waterman to develop a custom board for this boat. This board is 10’9” and perfect for beginners all the way through to experts. The 34” width gives it both extra volume and provides a very stable ride, taking the rider instantly to the next level.

“Morris Yachts prides itself in creating exceptional yachting and yacht ownership experiences,” says Doug Metchick, CEO Morris Yachts. “Offering a custom paddle- board is just another way we can enhance our customers’ time on the water and help them get the most out of their sailing lifestyle and, ultimately, their Morris.” The M46 hit the industry by storm in March 2013 and has been coined the most “versatile” of Morris’s M-Series line up. She was designed to meet the demands of today’s active sailing fam- ily and her innovative drop down transom design provides easy and convenient water access for the Morris iSUP.

In keeping with the attention to detail Morris is renowned for, the company offers an elegant on-board storage solution for the Morris iSUP. “The iSUP and storage bag will slip neatly into its allocated place in the M46’s bow locker where it is held in place by a security strap. When ready for use, all the owner has to do is release the strap and lay the board fl at on the nearby foredeck to infl ate it,” says Peter Smith, Chief Engineer for Morris Yachts. A pump with pressure gauge, carry bag, paddle, deck pad and hand hold are all included with the Morris iSUP. News from Below the Border Crocker’s Boat Yard in Manchester- by-the-Sea, MA has had a good year. They are still working on the Riva open power boat that they started last fall. The re- moved the entire bottom and made repairs to the keel, frames and planks as needed. They then gave her 20 coats of varnish and began putting her back together. A Ohlson 36 is in to have her sheer plank and covering boards replaced. When they went to remove the transom it fell in pieces

on the fl oor. She is now being fi nished bright. A 40-foot Huckins built in 1952 was given a cosmetic upgrade before she heads to the Wooden Boat Show the end of June. Crocker’s is also taking an outboard boat for their display.

They have three wooden boats still waiting to get painted. One is a 32-foot Wheeler and another is a 39-foot Concordia. Over the winter there were a number of boats that had work done on their electron- ics. Many received upgrades to some really neat gadgets.

One interesting job was installing a solar battery operated winch with a wireless remote for gangway to the dock.
