Maidstone Borough Council 7

Heather House Community Garden

Residents in Park Wood can now enjoy a wonderful community garden thanks to a project between local residents, the council and local businesses. Local residents group, Parents is the Word, worked with community garden design company Fleurs de Filles to design the space, and volunteers transformed the area, introducing a sensory garden, a play area for toddlers and a vegetable patch. The garden will be used to hold events and activities for local residents, schools and community groups, as well as being a space for residents to relax and enjoy.

Local businesses including VINCI Construction UK Ltd, Gallaghers and NG Bailey generously provided materials for the project.

The garden was opened by (left to right) Cllr Marion Ring, Jade Webster of Parents is the Word and Cllr Malcolm Greer.
