Cars are the stars at busy motor show


THE sunmay have made an ap- pearance but the cars were the stars at the Classic Cars on the Green event at Bearsted. The event raised more than £2,200 for the Kent Air Ambu- lance Trust. Organiser Philip Hill thanked everyone who supported the event, particularly main spon- sor A Glaze, those who adver- tised in the programme and traders who took stalls. He also thanked parish coun-

Music rocks the Green


SUN-drenched Bearsted Green came alive for two days of entertainment at Music on the Green.


With stalls, talents shows, live


music and food and drink aplenty, all generations got into the party spirit and made it a weekend to remember.

for community A FETE at the Downswood Com- munity Centre raised £1,500 for the upkeep of the hall. The children’s fancy dress competition was won by Elliot for the boys and Amelia (pic- tured left) for the girls, who each received a gift voucher and a goody bag. Visitors also enjoyed a demon- stration by the Kidz Kung Fu Academy, as well as family races and a tug of war.
