A tax free Lump Sum based on one-eighth of your pensionable pay pay multiplied by the length of your reckonable service (subject to a minimum of 6 months’ and a maximum of 24 months’ pensionable pay).

If you have completed at least 18 years’ reckonable service and have past your 40th birthday but not your 55th birthday, equal to the Preserved Gratuity you have earned that is payable at age 65.

If you have completed at least 18 years’ reckonable service and have past your 40th birthday but not your 55th birthday, equal to 50% of the value of the pension earned on exit at the 18/40 point; increased by 1.6667% for each complete additional year beyond the 18/40 point.

The New Armed Forces Pension Calculator


The upgraded Armed Forces Pension and Annual Allowance Calculator, which now includes a projection of benefits from the new Armed Forces Pension Scheme 2015 (AFPS 15) was launched in early Jun 13. This upgrade is designed to be used by Regular Service personnel including those with Transitional Protection and those who will leave Service before 1 Apr 15.
