19-20 JULY 2013 Hill Farm, Oxford TRUCK FESTIVAL
its local festival vibes, while bringing in some bigger acts to boost popularity. And it has worked a treat. Tis year sees Te Subways, Ash and Frankie and Heartstrings take to the stage, as well as headliners Te Horrors and Spiritualized. Te very first Truck Festival in 1998 cost just £3, so this year’s £74 price tag may look a bit steep, but its very much worth it. For two days and about £1 a band, it isn’t bad at all. Relive the 2005 by jumping around in the sunshine to Te Subways, or sit back and sip a cider while listening to a bit of Te Staves. If you can’t afford the full blown Festival Republic experience, local festivals are a mighty fine alternative, and because everything is wrapped up by Saturday night, you have all of Sunday to recover. Perfect. For info and tickets, and the full line up spectacular, visit

30 AUG-01 SEPT 2013Norfolk Showground SUNDOWN FESTIVAL S
our faced industry types and journalists were last year ringing the death knell for festivals. Tey reckoned we’d had enough, but thousands upon thousands of you guys would swear different, as Sundown asserted itself
as the major festival player in Norfolk, welcoming tonnes of you through the gates to get the Showground jumping. Tat’s no different this year as Sundown builds on its reputation of ending the summer with a bang. Much like last year, the headliners are huge names in pop, with Jessie J and Example taking top billing, but for us at Outline, it’s the acts further down the bill that deserve just as much attention. You’re gonna have to put your all-day party pants on for acts that continually rip fire through the radio airwaves, like Duke Dumont, Naughty Boy and DJ Fresh. Tere’s also a chance to see those favourite faces from the land of TV Talent Shows, as X-Factor’s Amelia Lily, winner James Arthur and JLS take to the stage. JLS were calling the end of their explosive career post-X Factor, but they’ve committed to playing the last of their scheduled appearances, including Sundown, which only proves the clout of the emerging festival. If you’re seriously in the mood to dance, you won’t be dissatisfied either, as Stage 2 welcomes huge dance floor pros like the Hospitality crew and Skepta. For tickets and more info, go to
