calls from
women inquir- ing about an upscale nail sa- lon that offered natural nail care and pedicures in a sterile environment led Kimberly Libbey to open Luxe Nail Lounge. “I could tell from the number of women who
were looking for this that it would be successful,” says Libbey, who is also the owner of Euro Spa of Naples. “My instincts have proven true.” Luxe offers Exotic Pure Fiji Pedi- cures that include a warm neck wrap while feet are soaking in a special aro- matherapy foot soak. All pedicures—Is- land Bliss Mango, De Luxe Coconut In- fused, Paradise Pineapple and Signature Pedicures—are performed with Trind hand and nail care products. From the Netherlands, the products have been trusted and respected throughout Eu- rope since 1988.
Libbey explains that her waterless manicures are better for nails. “Water isn’t good for nails, so we use Trind products to soften cuticles. We also use Zoya Nail Polish, which has been awarded as the longest-wearing natural nail polish by an independent panel in Women’s Health magazine,” advises Libbey. Zoya polish is free of the five main toxic ingredients normally found in nail polishes: toluene, camphor,
formaldehyde, formaldehyde resin and dibutyl phthalate (DBP). For individuals that want longer- lasting mani- cures, shellac is an option that lasts up to two weeks.
Pure Fiji
products, made with an organic, cold-pressed virgin coconut oil base, are
used for foot soaks, scrubs, foot masks and hydration. Clients can feel confi- dent about sanitary pedicures with the pipeless pedicure chairs at Luxe; they assure that no cross-contamination of bacteria or fungus occurs from stagnant water in pipes and jets. “In most salons, cross-contamination is a possibility because stagnant water from a previous pedicure sits in the pipes, and when the Jacuzzi jet is turned on, some of it comes back into the bowl,” explains Libbey, adding that all buffers and files used are disposable. Although natural nail care is the
lounge’s specialty, facials and massages are available, as well. Exotic Pure Fiji fragrances and natural essential oils provide an enveloping sensory experi- ence as clients enjoy therapeutic care of their feet, hands and spirit.
