Technical Station 9 - Seat mounting
We are now very close to having a complete mower. First, we attach a hinged mounting plate and then bolt the
Grammer air suspension seat to it. This is a high quality seat that provides excellent comfort for the operator. It can
be adjusted for the weight of the operator and has an adjustable backrest for added support.

Station 10 is the final step in the build process.
We begin by inserting the battery tray, fixing the battery into position and fitting the cover. The rear axle and wheel hub is assembled and fitted to the rear
wheel yoke, which was attached to the machine back at Station 1.
Sub-assembly of the reel motors takes place on the adjacent bench and they are then attached by flexible hoses to the valve block on the machine. The tool box
and small access step are added, the operator's footplate is bolted into position and the accelerator pedal attached.
Finally, all three tyres are fitted to their relevant wheel hubs and the mower is complete.
Fixing battery cover Pre-test
At this point, the mower is still sitting on the trolley on which it began its journey.
The first action is to add the engine cooling fluid, closely followed by a small quantity of fuel. All lubricated components have grease inserted before 22.5 litres of hydraulic fluid is pumped into the tank and the ignition key is turned for the very first time.
Once the engine is running it is left to idle for five minutes while the electrics are tested along with the steering function.
Test cutting cylinders are then attached and the units spun for the first time. This puts the hydraulic system under strain and distributes the oil around the system.
The machine is then checked for any fuel, coolant or hydraulic leaks and the hydraulic fluid is topped up with a further 6.5 litres of oil.
Only when it has passed these pre-checks is it lifted off the trolley for the first time and driven to the main test area.
