The MSc in Management is a full- time 13-month programme designed for recent graduates with little or no previous professional experience and will include a three-month internship at the end.


“The launch of the MSc in Management will enable Cranfield to become an even bigger player in the global business education market” said Professor Paul Baines, Director of the new programme. He went onto say: “The programme will equip ambitious graduates looking for their first professional management role with the knowledge, skills and understanding needed to succeed in business. Students will gain a sound understanding of core management theories, concepts, tools and techniques and how to apply them creatively in real-life situations.


“A unique element of the programme is a three-month internship, providing valuable work experience and the opportunity for students to really put the theory into practice.”


The MSc in Retail Management is a full-time one-year programme. Course Director Dr. Tamira King commented:


“This is a distinctive new programme which has been co- created with retail experts to support the developing needs of the retail sector which currently employs over 3 million people in the UK alone.


“As the retail sector becomes increasingly globalised and


competitive, there is a need for professionally trained retail managers, marketers, buyers and merchandisers who can not only solve today’s retail problems but who can also anticipate tomorrow’s challenges. We have been working very closely with retail experts to determine the requirements needed to support the development of the next generation of retail leaders.”


The tuition fees for the MSc in Management are £15,000 for EU students and £19,000 for international students and for the MSc in Retail Management, £11,000 for EU students and £17,000 for international students.

A specialised MSc programme can help a student differentiate themselves in the competitive graduate market. It shows a potential employer that the student has focus. An MSc can also provide the technical skills that many employers say students are lacking.


Studying for a MSc will give a student further time to develop the soft skills that employers are also looking for. Cass MSc students are encouraged to build their professional network and engage with employers through their course or via the Careers and Professional Development team.


Not everyone is clear on the career path they wish to pursue at the age of 21. Feedback from employers is that postgraduate students often exhibit more maturity and a greater understanding of commercial awareness, two areas that are often


lacking in undergraduate candidates.


However, a specialised MSc degree on its own is not enough to guarantee employment. Employers are looking for all-rounders – strong academics, extracurricular activities, work experience (ideally relevant) and a focus on the industry that the student has applied to.

• The majority are full-time, one year courses, with one part- time only (MSc in Finance & Investment) and three MSc courses that offer part-time as well as full-time intakes. Part-time MSc courses are usually run over two years
