demolition.Inthese circumstances theDistrictCouncil canissueaBuilding Preservation Noticewhichhas theeffect of protectingthe building as fully as if it were listed foraperiodofsixmonths. During this period an assessment ismade and, if thebuilding qualifiesagainst theapproved selectioncriteria, it is added formally to the statutory list.
It is also open tomembers of the public to bringtothe Department’s attention individual threatened buildings.
