04 EVENT REVIEW What you missed!

Musicalize, gives a much needed platform for urban acts in the UK, whether they be musical ‘A’ listers or hidden gems.

Many feel Musicalize could be the UK’s fastest growing live music showcase event having had the likes of Ed Sheeran and Wretch 32 perform last year. However, this was a challenging night for the organisers, unfortunately plagued by bad time keeping and unforeseen technical mishaps. Having said that, the night presented some good performances, for which I do credit the organisers who did a great job recovering and filling awkward long gaps between acts - mostly with excellent sets from DJ Melody. The main attractions, Misha B,

Chip, and Professor Green were accompanied by supporting acts; South London’s Krept & Konan, Connor Harris (with Adam Moss), and Mck Nasty (Drummer, DJ and all round talented brother of mastermind producer Labrinth). Regrettably Mck Nasty endured the brunt of technical hitches and walked off stage without explanation, leaving the audience bewildered.

The launch saw Krept n Konan with a host of guest Grime artists work the stage. The duo have a massive fan base and

this was evident as they worked their way through a catalogue of tracks, finishing on a high with the 02 singing along to their rendition of ‘Otis’. Former X Factor contestant Misha B was like a breath of fresh air reminding fans why she got so far in the competition. She was visibly nervous but warm and sincere with the audience, her powerful vocals proved she is a truly talented singer.

Chip showed the 02 why he has become a household name, his chart topping hit ‘Like a Champion’ brought

Musicalize
