was to signal the beginning of a 67-year membership of the Church of Scotland Guild that shows no sign of stopping any time soon. To mark the 125th anniver- sary of the guild in 2012, Mrs MacDonald was asked to cut the birthday cake at a re- cent Songs of Praise event in Glencruitten Church Centre,
because of her long associa- tion with the organisation. Coincidentally, she was also born in the same year the Oban guild was formed in 1923.
