WE ARE HAPPY PEOPLE! MALAYSIA has taken the 11th position as the happiest country according to a poll conducted by an international research company, Gallup, who measured the positive emotions in 148 countries and areas.


OPPA GANGNAM STYLE MAKES YOUTUBE HISTORY South Korean rapper Psy’s infectious viral hit song, “Gangnam Style’ has made history by being the first ever video on YouTube to reach 1 billion views. The song, first posted on YouTube on July 15, clocked the 1 billion milestone on 22 December 2012 overtaking Justin Bieber’s “Baby” video, which previously held the title.


This has been a whirlwind year for rapper Psy, 34, who is the first Korean pop (or K-pop) artist to achieve mainstream success in the US after “Gangnam Style,” named after the affluent Gangnam District in Seoul, captured viewers’ attention.


The video shows the outlandishly dressed Psy rap in Korean while performing an invisible horse-riding dance, which has become a pop culture trend, spurring many copycat and parody videos.


Malaysia tied with Canada, Colombia, the Netherlands and Ireland, with 80 per cent responding positively to a series of five questions, while Panama and Paraguay were tied at first place with 85 per cent. Singapore was the least happy country with 46 per cent while Thailand and the Philippines ranked 6th with 83 per cent and 8th with 82 per cent, respectively.
