regions of the Krishna and Godavari Rivers in Andhra Pradesh to Calcutta in West Bengal (near Bangladesh). This trail through the tribal belt is proving to have a huge strategic impor- tance that human intelligence could not have foreseen.
This year, in September, Victoria and I made a tour of several of these centers. What is the point and purpose of these visits? First, to be an eyewitness to the reality of the work; second, to discern the spiritual condition of the leaders and the congregation; third, to get a firm grasp on the physical needs of each facility; and fourth, like John on Patmos, to hear and share the voice of the Spirit to the local church concerning its present and future place in God.
In the mainline church, the Bible readings and spiritual focus are purposely pre-set on a broad scriptural basis to assure the congregation doesn’t get stuck on favorite scriptures and doctrines. The evangelical and Pentecostal churches have more freedom. There is an advantage and disadvantage to both approaches. Personally, I do not visit our centers with a prepared message but I am open to hear the voice of the Lord and enter into the freedom and leading of the Spirit. I also need to hear what the Spirit is saying to the spe- cific local church and regional center.
One of the centers we visited in September was the work under the leadership of Immanuel Das at Tenali in Andhra Pradesh. The church was packed to capacity and the program included multiple speakers, as well as ministry in music by the children. I don’t know all that has been accomplished through this work, but I do know that a highly recognized leader of some 1,500 churches around the world came to see and honor us at Tenali. He told the congregation he had once been a WME boy. This is but one example of the vast harvest of souls reaped through WME. Would you like to have a part in ensuring this harvest continues? You can, by helping us replace the 1970’s roof on the children’s school at Tenali. A new generation will come to know the Lord under the natural and spiritu- al covering you provide.
