It is important that students wishing to study classical guitar

at the university level have a rudimentary understanding of what the style encompasses. Students should appreciate and enjoy clas- sical music and the repertoire associated with the guitar (see list- ing below), have familiarity with various classical guitarists (current and past), know the terminology associated with it, and ideally have some experience playing the style before embarking on studies in college.
