20 thames valley deals awards DEALS AWARDS2013 THAMES VALLEY Entries now open
With entries closing on Monday, March 4, and the awards night planned for Thursday, April 25, it is now time to focus on getting your nominations in for the prestigious deals awards categories.
For the past three years, The Business Magazine has held joint Deals Awards covering both the Thames Valley and Solent regions. But this year, responding to demand from our sponsors and entrants, there will be two big events – one in the Thames Valley, and a later summer event in Southampton.
The Thames Valley Deals Awards will cover deal activity between January 1, 2012, and February 28, 2013. Judging will take place in late March.
Categories include: Law Firm of the Year – sponsored by Grant Thornton Lawyer of the Year – sponsored by Lloyds Banking Management Team – sponsored by PwC Private Equity Firm – sponsored by Spectrum Corporate Finance Bank of the Year – sponsored by HMT Corporate Finance Corporate Finance Adviser – sponsored by HSBC Corporate Finance Team – sponsored by Leumi ABL Dealmaker (under £25m) – sponsored by Pitmans Dealmaker (over £25m) Deal of the Year (under £25m) – sponsored by The Business Magazine Deal of the Year (over £25m) – sponsored by UBS
Deals must be geographically relevant to the Thames Valley – either the target, acquirer, funder, law firm or adviser must be located in this region.
Multiple nominations by different firms in a deal are allowed – but judges will not necessarily give extra weight to the number of nominations. Third parties can nominate too.
Judges are not just looking at the size of the deal. They will take into account deal complexity, who led the deal, mix of advisers, whether cross-border, completed to a tight timeframe, and a number of other criteria.
